The party is drawn into a series of strange occurrences surrounding otherworldly objects (Philosopher's cube, demons, ...) and their powers. They eventually find a connection between these objects and a hell dimension ruled by the long-dead king Jefferson "Jeff" Halifax. After fending off an invasion by the hell dimension, the party heads a mission to the hell dimension to investigate. There, Jeff unveils the technology to travel to an "overworld" simulating the original world of the adventure; the party follows Jeff into the overworld, where they fight in a climactic battle.
